Cosmos is a silly spaceship flight simulation game with roguelite elements made in less than one week for the Brackey's Game Jam 2025 with the theme "Risk it for the biscuit".
Learn to expertly pilot your ships and land on opposing planets in various levels with simulated solar systems in different shapes and forms. Collect Star Points around planets while dodging supermassive suns with planets - or smaller suns orbiting around them and shop for permanent upgrades that you can use across runs, including unlockable ships with unique handling and abilities. Collect Risk Tokens to take on additional challenges and obtain perks and other rewards during a run, or blow up your ship while trying to do so. You do you!

-5 unlockable unique ships and many unlockable perks and bonuses. Accumulate points very quickly to buy new ships and stuff
-Wacky abilities and unique ship traits.

-10 hand-crafted levels with elements of procedural generation in some of them.

Note: The game is somewhat heavy because of the art, sound and music assets, however, it's worth it in my opinion :)

I didn't submit one at all, so I'll happily rate it as a comment to celebrate your work! So, on a scale from 1-10 for each:
Enjoyment: 7/10
Gameplay: 10/10
Innovation: 4/10
Theme: 7/10
Visuals: 6/10
Audio: 9/10
All in all, the thing that holds this game together is a good idea; the feeling that the game was made not out of obligation or profiteering, but rather, out of love; and the fact it was made in a game jam over a brief period of time. It's got some sloppiness in the visuals that you can tell came from cutting a few corners. It has definitely used a rocketship game trope I've seen a few times before with limited innovation on that idea. However, it's nailed that gameplay style, making a genuinely enjoyable experience that, while it could be fleshed out better with more time, for a game jam, shows a good understanding of how to put together the elements that make a game a good experience for the user and a fun thing to engage with. Overall, the difficulty certainly could use some tweaking, as the game is overall very difficult, but it was still a good time.
